Fence Company in Lucas, TX

Open Fencing for Lucas Acreage

Lucas zoning is built on 1, 1.5 and 2-acre residential districts, and many of those lots carry horses, barns and long property lines. That makes pipe fence, ranch rail and black iron the main fence types here, often running the full boundary of an acre or more. Our crews drive out from the Plano office, about 25 to 30 minutes away. Before work starts, you have the estimate and schedule in writing and one project manager to call.

The Lucas fence code shapes every layout. Inside the required front, side and rear setbacks, a fence has to be at least half see-through, so open styles run the lot lines and solid cedar goes behind the setback. We mark both zones on your layout before the first post goes in.

Pipe Fencing

Welded pipe fence for Lucas pastures and road frontage, primed and painted in the color you pick. It stays open enough for the setback rule.

Agricultural Fencing

No-climb and woven wire for horse paddocks and pastures on Lucas properties zoned for livestock.

Ranch and Farm Gates

Pasture, barn and trailer gates in pipe or mesh, hung on greaseable hinges. Every Lucas fence needs at least one gate 3 ft wide or wider.

Stained cedar privacy fence on steel posts in concrete, placed behind the required setbacks around a back yard, pool or patio.

Custom Patio Covers

Patio covers sized for the large back patios on Lucas homes, with optional integrated lighting.

Pergolas

Cedar pergolas stained ahead of the build, with an optional polycarbonate roof. You approve a 3D rendering first.

Concrete

Stamped or exposed aggregate patios and walkways to tie a new pergola or patio cover into a Lucas back yard.

Built for Long Runs on Lucas Acreage

A square 2-acre lot has close to 1,200 ft of perimeter. On runs that long, the posts carry the job. Our steel posts go in concrete, and each pipe is torch-saddled and welded at the joints, then ground smooth, primed and painted. Our lifetime workmanship warranty stays on every fence and gate we build in Lucas for as long as you own the property.

Many Lucas lines cross a creek, a pasture swale or brush that has grown in for years. If brush has to come out along the line first, we include that work as its own line on the estimate. Iron panels are rackable, so they follow a slope instead of leaving gaps under the bottom rail.

Fence Rules and Recommendations for Lucas

Pipe, Iron and Cedar on a Lucas Acre

For horse property we usually recommend a pipe frame with no-climb wire on the pasture lines. For front lines, pools and lake views, black iron. Cedar privacy works around the back yard, set behind the required setbacks where the code allows a solid fence. Many Lucas lots end up with all three, and we plan them as one layout.

Lucas Fence Height and Material Rules

Lucas allows fences up to 6 ft in front yards, 8 ft in side and rear yards and 10 ft around sports courts. Taller requests go to the board of adjustment. Inside the required front, side and rear setbacks, fencing must be at least 50 percent see-through; outside the required side and rear setbacks it may be privacy style. Razor ribbon, plywood and materials not normally used for fencing are not allowed, and electric fence may not be charged in a way that is dangerous to people. Each fence needs at least one gate 3 ft wide or wider, and no fence may sit on city property or easements without written approval. At street intersections, a visibility triangle reaching 35 ft along each right-of-way line stays clear of anything over 2 ft. Pool barriers are at least 4 ft with a self-closing, self-latching gate, and agricultural fencing cannot serve as one. City approval does not override deed restrictions, so HOA rules still apply. We hired Lowery Fence Company to replace the back fence and one side between our house and one of our neighbors, and they exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, they were professional, communicative, and delivered exactly what we wanted — if not better!

Unfortunately, we share our fence line with two neighbors, and the other neighbor chose to go with a different contractor they knew. Seeing the difference between the two companies firsthand, I can confidently say that Lowery Fence is the company you want to go with. Their attention to detail, craftsmanship, and overall customer service truly stood out. I only wish we had used them for the entire fence!

Highly recommend them if you’re looking for quality work and a company that genuinely takes care of its clients.

They did an amazing job on my fence. Clean lines, sturdy build, and they finished quicker than I expected. Couldn’t be happier with how it came out!

Open Fencing Inside the Setbacks, Privacy Behind Them

The Lucas code splits most lots into two fence zones. Inside the required front, side and rear setbacks, a fence must be at least half see-through. Outside the required side and rear setbacks, the same section allows a privacy-style fence. That makes pipe, ranch rail and iron the default along Lucas lot lines.

We plan the whole property at once. Open pipe or iron runs the boundary, a solid cedar section closes in the back yard or pool behind the setback line, and the gates are sized for trucks, trailers or a riding mower. You see one layout with both zones marked before any work starts.
