Fence Company in Whitewright, TX

Pipe and Wire Fencing on Whitewright Acreage

Whitewright is a town of 1,725 people on the Grayson and Fannin county line, and most of the fence work around it happens past the city limits. Tracts off FM 697, Kentucky Town Road and East Line Road run from about 10 acres to well past 100, and many carry an ag exemption with cattle on them. That means pipe fence, barbed wire and long perimeter runs. Our crews come out from the Sherman office, about 25 minutes away.

In town, the jobs are smaller. Lots in the original town plat run about 0.16 to 0.25 acre, so a cedar privacy fence or a chain link side yard is the typical request. Either way, the estimate is in writing, the timeline is set before we start, and one project manager answers your calls.

Pipe Fencing

Welded pipe fence for road frontage, pens and entrances. Each joint is torch-saddled, welded, ground and painted the color you pick.

Barbed Wire

Single or multi-strand barbed wire for pasture lines and cross fences on county land outside town.

Agricultural Fencing

Woven and no-climb wire for goats, sheep and cattle, run along the full perimeter of an ag-exempt tract.

Ranch and Farm Gates

Pipe gates with greaseable hinges for pasture openings, and drive gates wide enough for a truck and trailer.

Gate Automation

Swing and slide operators with keypads and remotes for long driveways off FM and county roads.

Commercial Fencing

Chain link with a barbed or razor wire top for shops, equipment yards and storage lots, laid out around the city’s street and alley rules.

Wood Fencing

Cedar privacy fences for in-town lots, stained to hold color and hung on steel posts set in concrete.

Chain Link Fence

Chain link for dog runs, garden plots and the side yards of small in-town lots, in a galvanized or black finish.

Wrought Iron Fence

Short decorative iron for front yards in town, where the city caps fences at 36 inches and lets iron add a little trim.

Built for Chalk and Shallow Soil

Whitewright has a soil series named after it. The USDA describes it as 10 to 20 inches of silty clay loam over chalk and marl, first mapped in Grayson County. Where that soil shows up, an auger reaches chalk early. Each steel post is concreted in, so a line post in that ground holds as firmly as a corner. Fence and gate work stays under our lifetime workmanship warranty while you own the land.

Long runs magnify small mistakes. A pipe fence that drifts off line across a pasture shows it at every post. We pull the line straight, weld each joint, then prime and paint the finished fence so it does not rust out at the seams.

Fence Rules and Recommendations for Whitewright

Pipe and Wire Out of Town, Cedar and Iron In Town

On acreage, we usually recommend welded pipe along the road and a wire fence matched to your animals behind it: barbed wire for cattle, woven or no-climb wire for goats and sheep. Inside the original town plat, cedar privacy covers the back and sides, and a short iron fence handles the front. Where chalk sits close to the surface, every steel post still goes in concrete.

Whitewright Fence Height and Material Rules

Inside the city limits, no fence can be taller than 8 ft. In the required front yard of any district, the limit is 36 inches, and decorative wrought iron may add 3 inches of trim on top. Fences should use customary materials and match the buildings and fences around them. Barbed wire is not allowed next to alleys, public roads or streets. Barbed cross fences are allowed only where one owner holds both sides and neither side is commercial or rental property. The Industrial District allows 10 ft fences with barbed or razor wire above that height. A pool 2 ft deep or more needs a wall or fence at least 6 ft tall with self-closing, self-latching gates that lock. Anything outside these limits needs approval from the mayor or a designee. We hired Lowery Fence Company to replace the back fence and one side between our house and one of our neighbors, and they exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, they were professional, communicative, and delivered exactly what we wanted — if not better!

Unfortunately, we share our fence line with two neighbors, and the other neighbor chose to go with a different contractor they knew. Seeing the difference between the two companies firsthand, I can confidently say that Lowery Fence is the company you want to go with. Their attention to detail, craftsmanship, and overall customer service truly stood out. I only wish we had used them for the entire fence!

Highly recommend them if you’re looking for quality work and a company that genuinely takes care of its clients.

Fencing Ag-Exempt Tracts Around Whitewright

Land around Whitewright changes hands in tracts of about 10, 20 and 30 acres, and in ranch parcels well past 100. Many are already in cattle with an ag exemption in place. Plenty come only partly fenced with barbed wire, which leaves gaps a new owner has to close before animals go out.

We plan the perimeter, cross fences and gates together. Pipe goes on the road frontage and at the entrance, wire fits the animals you run, and gates sit where trucks and trailers can turn. You get the whole layout in writing, with the footage for each run.
