Fence Company at Lake Texoma
Iron, chain link, pipe fence and driveway gates for lake houses and acreage on both shores of Lake Texoma.
Fencing for Lake Houses and Acreage Around Texoma
Most of our Lake Texoma work is for lake houses. Open iron keeps the water view, chain link holds the dogs, and a gate closes off the long drive in from the road. On bigger tracts in Gordonville and along the Oklahoma shore, the job turns to pipe fence and wire. Crews run out of our Sherman office, about 10 to 15 minutes from Pottsboro.
A lake lot has one line a town lot does not: the Corps of Engineers boundary. We lay out the fence from your survey and the Corps markers, so every post stays on your land. The estimate puts the layout, gates and schedule in writing, and one project manager keeps you posted, which matters when you are not at the lake every week.

Custom Patio Covers
A covered spot to sit out after a day on the boat, with built-in lighting available for evenings.
Built for Post Oak Belt Sand and Loam
The ground changes north of Sherman. The part of Grayson County that drains into Lake Texoma has the acidic sandy and loamy soils of the Post Oak Belt, not the black clay farther south. Loose, sandy ground needs a solid footing, so every steel post we set goes in concrete.
Pottsboro writes the same standard into its code: privacy fences there need metal posts of at least 2-3/8 in, set 2 ft deep in concrete. That is how we build anyway. Our lifetime workmanship warranty covers the fence and gates for as long as the lake house is yours.

Neighborhoods We Serve at Lake Texoma
From the Preston Peninsula to Pointe Vista on the Oklahoma shore, these are the lake communities our Sherman crews cover.
Preston Peninsula and Preston Shores Pottsboro
The resort core north of Pottsboro, with Highport, Lighthouse and the Corps park at Preston Bend. Preston Shores began as a lake subdivision in the 1960s and mixes full-time homes with weekend places.
Tanglewood and Eagle Chase Pottsboro
Golf neighborhoods at Tanglewood Resort. Eagle Chase is gated, with lots of about a half acre to three quarters of an acre, many on the fairways, where open iron keeps the course in view.
Grandpappy Point Denison
A resort and marina on the Denison side of the lake, near Eisenhower State Park. Lots here sit close to Corps land, so the fence line gets checked before anything else.
Rock Creek Gordonville
A private, gated 1,300-acre resort with a Nicklaus Design golf course and thirty villages, each with its own build guidelines. We read the village guidelines before we quote.
Texoma Bluffs Gordonville
A gated subdivision of lake-view tracts, most about 2 to 4 acres, with a mandatory HOA. Some lots back directly to Corps of Engineers land.
Cedar Mills, Cedar Bayou and Walnut Creek Gordonville
Marina areas along the Gordonville shore with homes on larger tracts. Pipe fence, no-climb wire and a gate at the road suit this land.
Big Mineral Sadler
Rural tracts along the Big Mineral arm near Sadler. Wire and pipe fence suit the open ground, and the Corps line sets where the fence stops.
Pointe Vista Kingston, OK
A master plan of about 2,700 acres and 19 miles of shoreline, with Chickasaw Pointe golf and Catfish Bay Marina. We also serve the Alberta Creek and Buncombe Creek marina areas nearby.
Mill Creek and Flowing Wells Pottsboro
Marina and resort areas west of Pottsboro, toward the Big Mineral arm. Chain link for the dogs and iron toward the water fit these lake lots.

Fence Rules and Recommendations for Lake Texoma
Iron Toward the Water, Wire on the Acreage
On a lake lot we usually recommend open iron on the side that faces the water, with chain link or cedar on the lines you share with neighbors. On Gordonville and Oklahoma acreage, pipe fence with no-climb wire holds horses, and barbed or woven wire covers cattle and goats. Grayson County has had a stock law since 1979, so livestock owners there must keep animals from running at large. In Rock Creek, Texoma Bluffs and other HOA communities, the HOA or village guidelines come first, and we read them before we quote.
Pottsboro, Grayson County and Corps Fence Rules
Inside Pottsboro city limits, rear and side fences can be up to 8 ft, or 10 ft around a tennis court. In the front yard setback, fences are held to 3 ft, must be decorative and at least half open, and cannot be wire, mesh or chain link. Corner lots keep 30 ft of clear view along each street, and rear or side entry driveways keep a 5 ft visibility clip on both sides. Pottsboro does not allow chicken wire, hog wire, plywood or sheet metal fences unless they are for farm use or livestock, and it bans slats in chain link. Barbed wire is limited to livestock fences, or commercial fences with the lowest strand at least 6.5 ft up. Outside city limits, Grayson County has no zoning and no fence height rule, but no fence or gate may block a county road right-of-way. On both shores, private fences are not allowed on Corps of Engineers land. Source: City of Pottsboro Code, Section 23A Fence Regulations.
Lake Texoma Fence Questions
Answers on Corps land, lake-lot materials, acreage fencing and the Oklahoma side. If your lot raises a question we have not covered, call us.
Corps of Engineers Land Sets the Lake Edge
Lake Texoma covers about 89,000 acres of water, and the Corps of Engineers also owns about 114,000 acres of land above the normal lake level. That means most lakefront lots border federal land, not the water. The 2021 Shoreline Management Plan and federal rule 36 CFR 327.20 prohibit private structures on that land without written approval, and the Corps lists fences as an encroachment that is usually removed.
Before we set a post on a lake lot, we find the Government boundary from your survey and the Corps monuments, signs or pins on the ground, then build on your side of it. If part of your land carries a Corps flowage easement, check the easement deed: a ground-level fence such as chain link that does not block the flow of water can be allowed there, but walls and fill cannot. For questions about the line, call the Corps Lake Texoma office at 903-465-4990.
