Fence Company in North Dallas, TX
Fences, gates and outdoor living for North Dallas, from our Plano office.
Replacement Fencing on Established North Dallas Lots
In Far North Dallas, the median home was built in 1986 on a lot of about 7,840 sq ft. Most of our work here is replacing a fence that has done its time. Our crews come down from the Plano office, about 10 to 15 minutes away. You get a written estimate, a clear timeline and a project manager you can call. We do what we say.
Replacing a fence on an established lot means working around what is already there: mature trees, sprinkler lines, gates and a neighbor on the other side. We take the old fence out, haul it away and set the new one on the line you approve. Before the crew arrives, you know the start day and how long the job runs.

Built for Blackland Prairie Clay
North Dallas sits on Blackland Prairie clay. It swells when it is wet and shrinks when it dries, and that movement is what pushes a fence out of line. We set steel posts in concrete so the fence stays straight through both seasons. Every wood gate is built on a welded steel frame. Fence and gate work carries our lifetime workmanship warranty for as long as you own the property.
Wood posts are the weak point in clay soil. They sit in wet ground, then rot, lean or draw insects. Our wood fences go up on metal posts instead, which resist rot, warping and insect damage. A stain on the cedar helps the boards hold their color and shape longer.

Fence Rules and Recommendations for North Dallas
Cedar, Iron or Both on a North Dallas Lot
On established lots like Prestonwood and Preston Highlands, we usually recommend cedar board-on-board on steel posts for privacy along the rear and side lines. Where a lot backs to a golf course, a creek or a pool, iron keeps the view open, and the two can be combined on one property. Either way, every post goes in concrete because the clay here moves with the seasons.
Dallas Fence Height and Material Rules
Rear and side yard fences in Dallas are 6 ft as standard, and the city allows up to 9 ft. In the required front yard the limit is 4 ft, and in single-family districts solid panels sit at least 5 ft back from the front lot line. Corner lots keep a visibility triangle clear: 45 ft along each curb line and 20 ft at driveways and alleys, with nothing between 2.5 and 8 ft tall inside it. Sheet metal, corrugated metal, fiberglass panels, plywood, most plastics, barbed wire and razor ribbon are not allowed in residential districts. Planned development, historic and conservation districts carry extra fence rules, and HOAs may add their own. Source: Dallas Development Code, Section 51A-4.602.

New Homes in 75229 Need New Perimeter Fences
In Sparkman Club Estates, Midway Hollow and Northaven Park, 1950s ranch homes are being replaced with large new houses. Every rebuild needs a new perimeter fence. We set the fence line with you, match the style to the new home and schedule the install around the rest of the build.
On a rebuilt lot you may want taller privacy along the rear line, an open iron style toward the street and a driveway gate sized for the new garage. We plan the whole perimeter at once, so the heights, materials and gates work as one design and stay within the Dallas height limits.
